Waldwick Eye Exam
Caring for your eyes is incredibly important if your vision is to remain clear and precise for a lifetime. The best way to protect your vision is to be under the care of an eye care professional that will get to know you and your eyes so that any changes can be detected and evaluated against the history of your eye health. Our practice, Wyckoff Ophthalmology conducts
Waldwick eye exams that help our patients at each stage of life from pediatric to older senior detect and prevent eye disease as well as correct poor vision.
A comprehensive
Waldwick eye exam includes many different procedures and tests, for example our comprehensive eye exam usually consists of a vision check, eye pressure check, slit lamp examination, dilated eye exam, refraction for glasses and contact lenses and glaucoma screening testing as well as a series of other computerized tests to determine the health of your eyes. Most people think of measuring acuity and prescribing vision corrections as the extent of an eye exam but a comprehensive medical eye exam also looks at the structures in your eyes for any abnormalities and detects and diagnoses any current or developing eye diseases. Many of the most debilitating eye diseases including glaucoma; diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and macular degeneration among others develop without symptoms until they are in the advanced stages when vision can be lost. This lost vision cannot be regained with many of these diseases. Early detection during an eye exam is the only way to become aware that these diseases are developing in time to treat them effectively in an easier manner.
A comprehensive
Waldwick eye exam should be repeated each year because the eye and vision can constantly change. Vision changes as we age getting worse or sometimes better and many eye diseases are age-related or related to conditions in the body’s other organ that are related to aging. Our doctors recommend yearly eye examinations so that they can continue to monitor the eyes for early detection of eye disease. Protect your vision and your eyes by coming to our practice for a comprehensive eye examination.
